Grand Hotel Continental Siena
Siena
With its quaint, narrow streets and overwhelming amount of historic buildings, it may come as no surprise that the historic city of Siena is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. One of the major draws is Piazza del Campo, one of the largest medieval squares in the world. Twice a year, the famous horse race Pallio del Contrade are held on this impressive square. Siena also is a lively city in the evenings, thanks to the many students who live there. And if this isn’t enough already, the city is also an excellent starting point for visiting other cities, towns and villages in the area, such as San Gimignano, Montalcino, Pienza and of course Florence.
